FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

These are the most frequently asked questions that we receive from customers who are looking to book a fishing trip in Fujairah with us. It is important to get your questions answered. After all, we want you to have a great fishing experience. If you have a question that is not listed here, please ask.

Pre Booking Questions

Can I speak with someone about my booking details or your services before I make and confirm my booking?

Yes, of course, and you can find our contact information by clicking on CONTACT in the website's header.

How can I make and pay for my booking?

By clicking on BOOKING in the website's header, you can make and pay for your reservation on our booking form.

Can I make part payment to confirm my booking?

Unfortunately, our booking form does not currently accept partial payments. We are working on adding this feature and will update this section once our booking form is updated to accept partial payments.

Do you accept group trip bookings?

We've tried to arrange group charters in the past, but they never worked out. With group charters, there is always the risk that the other party will cancel at the last minute, ruining your plans. You may also be paired with a group that has different goals and ideas about fun than you. And you may find yourself in a situation where the other group is fighting a fish of a lifetime for a couple of hours while you sit and watch. We decided to focus solely on private charters after encountering these situations while running group trips. This enables us to provide you with the best service possible, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience! If you book a private charter by yourself, you will be able to catch ALL of the fish.

Can I select the captain and/or the boat?

Yes, you can select the captain on the booking form. Each of our captains operates his own boat, so by choosing the captain, you are also choosing the boat. In the booking form, you can see the boat's name right next to the captain's name.

Where do I check the weather conditions before making my booking?

You can check the weather by clicking on the weather forecast link in the footer of our website. Unfortunately, this weather forecast will only give you an idea of what the weather will be like in the next 7 days.

How far in advance should I book?

You should make a reservation as soon as you know what date you want. Booking at least one month in advance is recommended depending on the fishery. If your dates are flexible, we can usually accommodate you even on short notice.  We can sometimes get you on the water the same day you call because our boats are usually on the water and ready to go.

What is your cancellation Policy?

Any changes to charter dates must be made with us at least seven (7) days prior to the original charter date. Changes made within seven (7) days of the original booking's charter date will result in the forfeiture of the booking and any deposits made in relation to this booking. If we cancel due to bad weather conditions deemed unsafe for fishing or mechanical issues, individuals can choose an alternative date, receive a refund, or a Return Voucher valid for one year, equal to the value of the booking. Bookings made with a Gift Voucher(s) will not be refunded, but will instead receive a Return Voucher of the same value valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

Do you have any hotel suggestions?

There are many hotels in Fujairah to choose from, but we do not recommend hotels with less than three stars. Al Bahar Hotel and Palace Beach Resort are the closest hotels to our marina.

Will the boat have deckhands?

Yes, our deckhands accompany the captain to ensure that your needs are met properly.

Do you charge per person or per boat?

Our rates for charter include the cost of renting the boat for its maximum number of passengers, which is 10.

Why should I choose Blue Waters Charters?

To make deep sea fishing your full-time career, you must be able to fish every day when the sea conditions are safe. This essentially ensures that we always know where and what the best bite is. Few of our competitors can make this claim.

Second, we recognise how critical it is to prioritise the needs of the consumer. We are excellent with children and those who have never fished before, and we enjoy seeing people have a good time on their fishing trips with us. We instruct and motivate while out on the water. This explains why we have so many repeat customers and positive feedback. Our reviews can be found on our website and social media. In many cases, our clients become friends, and they contact us on a regular basis by phone or email to talk about fishing and plan future outings.

Third, we believe we are the best. Although this is a bold claim, we firmly believe that no one provides a better charter fishing experience than us. We eagerly await the opportunity to back up this claim.

Is deep sea fishing something our young children can do? Which trip would be ideal?

Nothing beats assisting a young child in catching their first trophy and providing a lifetime of love for the sea for a captain. We e want to give younger children the best chance of having a good time. We check the marine forecast to ensure that the seas are mild to calm. If the seas are too rough, you can choose one of our closer to shore excursions. Unfortunately, motion sickness can occur while deep sea fishing, and it is not pleasant for parents to watch their children with the unpleasant feeling of motion sickness. In our experience, many children tolerate motion sickness better than adults.

Most parents believe that a full day trip is too long for their children. In reality, the parents always outlast the children. It's similar to a day at the theme parks in that the kids get tired and fall asleep while the parents relax. Make plenty of snacks for the kids.

Our shore jigging trips are also ideal for children due to the short distance between the fishing grounds.

Pre Trip Questions

Can I bring my own tackle?

Yes you can. However, we supply the best tackle and take you to the best fishing spots, giving you a better than average chance of catching some nice fish. Our boat is in excellent condition, and our fishing tackle is either new or well-maintained. On our boat, we don't have any old, worn-out tackle. This is critical because we want you to be able to get one of those big ones to the boat without a malfunction or something going wrong that we could have avoided.

If you have fishing tackle that you would like to bring, ask the captain if it is appropriate for the species you intend to target. Our fishing captains will provide the best gear for the type of fishing you will be doing.

What do I need to bring?

We ask that you dress in layers so that you can peel some off when it gets hot and put some on when it cools down. Customers should bring snacks, sunscreen, hats, boat shoes, beach and hand towels, and sunglasses. Please do not bring glass containers on the boat. Glass has the potential to be hazardous. Please only bring cans and plastics.

Is it necessary for me to bring any identification?

Yes. Residents must bring their original IDs, and visitors must bring their original passports. If you do not bring these identifications, the UAE Coastguard will not allow you to board the charter.

When should I plan on arriving for the charter?

It is best to arrive at the marina 15-20 minutes before your departure time. This gives you and your group enough time to sign in at the marina security with your IDs or passports and meet your captain. This ensures that your trip begins on time and that you have enough time to enjoy your fishing.

How do I deal with motion sickness at sea?

The most common symptoms of motion sickness are nausea and vomiting, but they are not the only ones. It can also result in cold sweats, headaches, and pain.

You can try a few things to alleviate motion sickness:

Before the trip, avoid caffeine, alcohol, and large meals. Instead, drink plenty of water. If you can, lie down or close your eyes and keep your head still. Look at the horizon instead of reading or staring at the seat in front of you.

If you can't keep it at bay, use over-the-counter motion sickness medications. they are available at any drug store.

Do I need a fishing license?

A fishing license is not required. You will be fishing with a UAE Coast Guard certified fishing charter operator and you will be covered under our licenses and credentials.

Where do we depart from?

Our boats are berthed in Fujairah International Marine Club, Fujairah. You can find the location on Google Maps by searching for Blue Waters Charters or Fujairah International Marine Club.

What are your boats specifications and safety standards?

Our 42-foot boats are outfitted with cutting-edge navigational equipment and a sound system that raises the heart rate on the way out to the grounds and back.

The space available on this boat for topwater casting is something you have to see for yourself, and once you do, you'll be back for more. Working lures on the foredeck is unlike anything else. She gets up and runs in excess of 51 knots, which is far too fast for anyone. She is powered by three 300HP Mercury outboards.

The most enjoyable aspect of this boat is the space available for groups of up to ten people, whether it's a family group or a group of hardcore fishermen who take turns casting in groups of four. This boat is capable of almost anything and you can rest assured that no matter what the conditions are, you'll be riding in style and comfort in this rig!

All our boats have toilets.

Do you serve food on the boat?

Unfortunately, we do not serve food on the boat due to sanitary concerns. You are, however, welcome to bring any snacks with you on board.

What are your boats' passenger capacity?

Our boats' passenger capacity is 10.

Can I still join you even though I have no fishing experience?

Our friendly captain and deckhands welcome clients of all skill levels and can meet your requirements, from novice to professional.

What are the durations and departure times of your trips?

On our home page, you can find detailed information about the durations and departure times of our trips.

What is the difference between half-day and full-day charters?

Full-day charters allow you to spend more time on the water, which increases your chances of catching more fish. With a full-day charter, we can also cover more distance and fishing spots, as well as use more fishing techniques than a half-day charter allows.

Do we get to choose what kind of fish we want to catch?

You can request to fish for specific species, and we will do our best to catch it. However, it is always a better idea to let the captain take you to where the fish are biting at the time. We enjoy catching everything and hearing the drag scream and seeing the rods bend. In our opinion, every fish is fantastic!

We occasionally have customers who have a "bucket list" fish. If this is the case, please contact us so we can discuss the likelihood of catching that specific fish during the time you are planning a charter.

Some people only want fish they can eat, which is fine. You are allowed to keep any fish that falls within reasonable limits. Remember that fishing is a recreational activity.

We've compiled our catch data from the last few years into an easy-to-read infographic that shows how prevalent certain species are throughout the year. The infographic can be viewed by clicking on "Fishing Calendar" in the footer of our webpages. Overall, leaving it up to the captain usually results in good action and a few fresh fish for dinner.

Are you always successful at catching fish?

We usually catch a good number of nice fish on every full day or half day trip. We don't get skunked very often, but it happens... that's why it's called fishing rather than catching. Our captains usually fish every day (weather permitting), so we know where the best places to catch fish are. Because we are full-time captains, we are constantly discussing where the best fishing is that day. When you contact us about a fishing trip, we will tell you the truth about the fishing and what you can expect to catch. Please feel free to look through our social media to see what we've caught over the last few years. We post our daily catch, regardless of how good or bad it was. We are very proud of our ability to locate and catch fish. We believe that we give our customers the best chance of having a successful fishing trip.

Will there be live bait?

We always provide the best bait for the fishing style with the most action at the time. Sometimes that means live bait, other times it means dead bait, and still other times it means artificial bait. If we require live bait, the Captain will either throw a cast net or catch them with a bait rod. This usually takes 30 minutes or less, but it can take longer on difficult days. Because most of the live bait we use cannot be purchased, we must catch it on the day of the trip. Because most bait only lasts 5 or 6 hours, we can't catch it ahead of time. We must catch bait during your charter because the bait must be as fresh and lively as possible. Old and nearly dead bait does not catch as many fish as fresh bait. Yes, the time spent catching bait affects your fishing time. Most people enjoy it, and bait fishing or looking for bait frequently allows us to catch larger fish that are eating the bait.

What factors influence the success of our trip?

Your success is determined by factors such as your willingness to learn how to catch fish, the bite, fishing pressure, the moon phase, the tide, the current, water clarity, weather, sea conditions, water salinity, and, most importantly, the length of your trip. Longer trips allow you to catch more fish and possibly larger fish. A half-day trip is the best value for money that we have to offer. However, for those who want to spend the entire day on the water, we do offer longer trips. Remember that longer trips do not imply that the cooler will be full. Seasons, your participation, and how the fish bite all influence this.
We provide the best tackle and take you to the best fishing spots, giving you a better than average chance of catching some nice fish. Our boat is in excellent condition, and our fishing tackle is either new or well-maintained. On our boat, we don't have any old, worn-out equipment. This is critical because we want you to be able to get one of those big ones to the boat without a malfunction or something going wrong that we could have avoided.

On The Trip Questions

Where can we get our catch cooked?

There are few restaurants in the marina that can clean and cook your catch for you. Salads, appetisers, and drinks are also available.

Can you clean the fish if I want to take it home with me?

Yes, we would be delighted to clean and fillet the fish for you.

Why is it important to pay the captain and crew a compliment?

Running a tight ship necessitates regular maintenance and effort to ensure that it is always seaworthy and safe for guests. You should be aware that your captain has spent years at sea learning everything they can about everything that lives beneath the surface. When you consider these factors, you will not hesitate to compliment them on a job well done.

A good captain and crew will not only take you out to sea, but they will also take you to the areas where you have the best chance of catching the most fish. Because of their knowledge and expertise, as well as their level of service, your fishing trip will be unforgettable. A kind compliment can go a long way.
